Connect Your Bookoo Scale

Looking for a Bookoo app alternative? Brew Better connects to your Bookoo scale via Bluetooth, giving you real-time flow rate charts, detailed brew logs, and extraction analysis in one place. Both the Bookoo Mini and the Bookoo Ultra are supported.

Before You Connect

Before connecting your Bookoo scale, make sure:

Bluetooth is enabled on your device — Open your phone or tablet’s settings and turn on Bluetooth.
Your Bookoo scale is powered on — Press the power button and wait for the display to show the weight reading.
The scale is not connected to another app — A Bluetooth scale can only talk to one app at a time. Close the official Bookoo app if it is still connected.
Brew Better is open — Launch the Brew Better app on your phone or tablet.

Note: You do not need to pair your Bookoo scale in your device’s Bluetooth settings. Brew Better connects directly to the scale.

How to Connect Your Bookoo Scale

There are two ways to connect your Bookoo scale in Brew Better:

On the home screen, you’ll see a Bluetooth status banner at the top. Tap it to enter the Bluetooth connection page. The app will automatically start scanning for nearby scales. When your Bookoo scale appears in the list, tap it to connect.

Method 2: Via the Brew Button

Tap the brew button at the bottom of the home screen to start a new brew. If no scale is connected, the app will prompt you to connect one. You’ll be taken to the Bluetooth page where scanning begins automatically.

If Your Bookoo Scale Doesn’t Appear

If scanning completes without finding your Bookoo scale, tap the Start Scanning button at the bottom of the Bluetooth page to scan again. Make sure your scale is powered on, nearby, and not already connected to another app on this or any other device.

Tare and Timer from the App

Once connected, you don’t have to reach for the scale. Brew Better can tare your Bookoo scale and start, stop, and reset its timer directly from your phone, and it reads the scale’s battery level so you know when it needs charging.

Start Brewing

With your Bookoo scale connected, you’re ready to brew. Place your dripper and server on the scale, then start pouring. Brew Better will automatically detect the brew and begin recording your flow rate curve in real-time.
